very cool!!
I live in Medford, Oregon where several years ago they put together a P-38 from parts and they sent the P-38 to the Museim up Noth not exactly where it is and a pilot I dont know was flying it and ran out of gas in flight I found out, not very smart. I also did not know that it's only a one person aircraft.
@Hambo, you information is very complete, detailed and accurate (LIMAO!!!)
Dam...wish I could fly one of the Lightnings!
Did Richard Bong fly this plane?
Outstanding!
Handsome
Some oil on the fuselage, both of them actually.
Lightening over the desert, superb! Many thanks.
When I was a kid during WWII living in Cherryvale, Kansas P38s used to fly over.
One of the best fighters ever put to the skies. What a great photo.

Likely the best photo Ive seen on FlightAware. P-38 is in my top 3 fav planes so Im a bit biased.
My absolute favorite fighter aircraft. If I were to win the Lottery this is probably what I would blow the money on. What I wouldn't give to fly one of those...Nice photo. The oil on the fuselages only means that she runs!
