Swearingen Merlin 3 (XA-TYX)
Nose-on view of a Fairchild Dornier SA227 Metro III on the ramp at Pryor Field Regional Airport, Decatur, AL - November 5, 2016.
Comments
She's a Metro 3(SA227). The Merlin 3 (SA226T) has a much shorter fuselage (about 16feet shorter) and has the main cabin entry door aft of the wing. Beautiful shots!
I was wondering about the difference. I hate it when FlightAware shows all of the aircraft that look like this as SW3's. I've photographed three different ones so far and to my layman's eyes I just can't tell them apart. Take a look at the other Aeronaves photos I've got (the red and white one at this same airport) when you get a chance and let me know if I've mis-labeled that one, too, if you don't mind. And THANKS!!
I don't recall when I worked these, someone may correct me, the Metro 2 no water injection, the 3 had AWI
