Experimental 100kts-200kts (C-GUTT)
Comments
The a/c is a Turbine Legend, kit supplied by Legend Aircraft. Top speed with a Walther 601B engine is approximately 314kts; cruise speed is about 290kts. Estimated build time is 2000 hours; final cost averages $350,000.
I saw one of these fly at the EAA Copper State Fly In at KWIA during the late 1990s. There was a outfit there building one also. Never heard anything else about the aircraft after I left.
This one has been into KDVT within the last couple months.
This Legend has a Garrett Dash 10, souped up to 1200HP.
It cruises quite nicely at 370 KTAS. Initial climb rate at sea level ISA day is 10,000 FPM.
Outperforms P 51's, Bearcats, or any WWII fighter for that matter.
