Boeing 747-200 (SX-OAE)
Comments
Most beautiful bird ever! Love the 100, 200, and the SP. Thanks for this amazing photo!
Nice photo. Never flew with Olympic. Did ride on Aegean a few years ago. Very nice airline, too.
I just bought a book on the 747. Was curious about engines on the earlier versions. The early 100's and 200's had a neat growl to them as the left JFK - early 70's I'd guess. Maybe just the 100's? Long ago...!

Queen of the Skies forever!
I flew an Olympic 747 in 1996 from JFK to Athens, transferring to Egypt Air to arrive in Cairo. I was bumped up to Business in the front of the plane; first was upstairs. I remember when you pulled down the shade there were images of Greek statues facing you. First flew the 747 on Pan Am in 1971 from IAD to Heathrow; very exciting to a ten year old boy. Miss it so much and hope to fly on a final Lufthansa 747 before they disappear. Nothing beat the 747!
Fantastic 747
From 1978 to 1980 I had an office in the same building as OLympic's in Benghazi and although I never flew olympic I was blessed to fly on "The Queen" many times. I did 9 round trips JFK to LHR and back on TWA, PAn-Am and British Air. Loved to fly on anybody's 747.
Perfect proportions on -200.
The Queen in her glory days
A real beauty in the sky, graceful and majestic!. Loved to watch on land or in the sky and travel on it!
