'Hive 61' lifting off of runway 33

Nice shot, must be the J model.
I flew on one in 1999 as part of AFJROTC in West Virginia when they still had some based out of Martinsburg, super tough aircraft
Yup, "J" models began delivering to USAF in the "double-oughts". This is a 2016 vintage, and definitely a "J".
The 6-bladed composite props are a signature for the J. Worked on the autopilot/flight director for that aircraft. It's a great bird.
love these...
Not just a C-130J but a C-130J-30 stretched version. Fabulous aircraft and would have to seriously challenge the DC-3/C-47 as one of the most successful and iconic transport aircraft of all time.
@skylab72, that's incorrect. They started delivering in the mid/late 90s. I recently toured/repaired one that's tail was 96-xxxx....
Also, I'm a Lockheed field rep.
