The Flying Rodent returns home to Sydney.
It appears that many flights done by this aircraft are non-stop between Sydney and Johannesburg, South Africa. It was a good decision from Boeing to produce the 747-400 ER version to enable it to do long distance flights like these non-stop. When my wife and I started doing flights from Johannesburg to the USA ten years ago, the flights had to land in Dakar, Senegal for re-fuelling. Somehow they were able to do the return flight without having to re-fuel. Lately we have been doing non-stop flights to JFK or Atlanta.
