Fairchild Dornier 328 — - Don't see a Dornier 328 doing pattern with at Eastport Municipal Airport everyday.... or really any day in the past. We were thrilled to host this crew's specialized training! As far aircraft size, that's about the upper limit for Eastport to handle. The runway asphalt was more than capable of accommodating an aircraft of that size and weight. However we weren't entirely confident that Taxiway A, the sole taxiway on the field, was engineered for an aircraft of that size. In the aviation industry uncertainties like this make these decisions no-brainers, the crew and I completely agreed that keeping that big bird on the runway was the best course of action.
