Fat Albert putting on a show 05-30-24

Very nice photo. Used to live in Jax FL and went to the air show every year!! Have seen Fat Albert a few times!
CIRCA 2008, "Fat Albert" would practice current and considered airshow maneuvers at the Tonopah, NV. Test Site airbase (KTNX); exciting to enjoy and marvel at the airmanship displayed by the crew of a large transport aircraft.
Former loadmaster here... there's nothing "E' about Fat Albert, it's a "slick" as far as I know, I could be wrong. But love me some Herkey Birds!!! Hoorah!!
Keith, I'm a former C-130 Loadmaster as well (77-81). Not sure what your reference to this being an "E" model? It's not, it's a J.
Scary!
Too short to be a J.
@ Joe Wood, the number of blades give it away as J model.
@Joe Wood, not all J-models are stretch, there are short J-models as well.
ole al would be about 10 kts. faster if they would rub a little wax on it.
Fat Albert even makes it up to Traverse City, MI near the 45th parallel every other year with the Blue Angels for the National Cherry Festival
