BOEING 767-300 (N199DN)
Delta 8966 is seconds from buttering Runway 31 at DSM closing out a flight from Atlanta. This aircraft is here at DSM for a 132nd ANG charter. Photo taken September 13, 2020 at 11:04 AM with Nikon D3200 at 122mm.

I tried another new spotting location. This time I used the south parking garage at DSM. It was so cool to see a Delta 763 as we don't get passenger wide bodies much at all. Previously, the ANG would use two aircraft such as the Allegiant A320 that I spotted last year. I wouldn't mind if they continue to use larger aircraft.
Superb!! Not easy to get a late morning capture with the sun shining straight down and have it turn out so exceptionally well lit and sharp from top to bottom. Lots of so-called photogs would not even be out with the sun directly overhead as getting a great snap like this is difficult. Congrats on this 5 * click.

Indeed, good shot. Ground reflection helps light the underside at least and it appears you don't have to be too far away that heat haze becomes a problem in this location.
