very nice aircraft to fly as we had four of them in NZ/NAC
Great memories of the Viscount from the early '60's. Air Canada had a fleet of them. I don't think they had PLL control for the prop synch in those days, so there was often a slow "beat" frequency sound from them. Always loved flying in them.
It would be sad news to know of the number of ramp workers who lost their hearing because of this airplane. the SUD, caravel is in the same category. one could hear the caravel 5 minutes after take-off, even though it was out of sight!

Capitol Airlines had a fleet of them as well. They operated out of Washington, DC.
