Lockheed F-16 Fighting Falcon —
Flying Thunderbird #1, the Thunderbirds Squadron CO has just touched down on Runway 16L while, in the background, a Dobbins ARB*-based C-130H, 93-1037, waits on Alpha at the 16L "Hold" line for more F-16 Thunderbirds to land.

The Commanding Officer (and Leader) of the Thunderbirds Squadron always flies in the Fighting Falcon showing number "1."
Great juxtaposition Gary. Oh, that's a word I learned to use too often recently from a ship spotting friend of mine. That said though, it is true in this case anyway. Clearly heat is an enemy but you don't pass up on shots like that.
TY, Gavin. Indeed, there was heat from a variety of sources. I did get a distortion-free capture of TBird #1 as it went past me; however, this was the sole catch that had that Dobbins Herc in the background. Normally, I'd dump a heat-wrecked pic like this but as you said, you don't pass up on shots like this. Not many photogs are fortunate enough to get a TBird touching down with a military bird centered behind it so in this case I decided it is a keeper. (Not too mention the CO liked it, even heat-distorted, well enough to ask for it.) (Wave)
Great Shot! Really great combination.
Great shot Gary! Your timing was perfect! All 5 and worth many many more!
