What a difference 45 minutes can make! In the photo I posted a few moments ago, N403QX was arriving at Reno at dusk. Only 3/4ths of an hour later, the airport lighting is on as evening darkness falls over northern Nevada.

You were right, Gary... the fading light went rather fast on you. But this is a superb photo for a post dusk exposure!

Thanks again for your compli, Cliff. I was hoping the pilot would turn on the headlights (I was silently pleading with him to turn them on as they taxied past) because I figured the added illumination would light up those whirling props and really highlight the prop blur. But there were no headlights until it began rolling down 16R and the snaps I fired off then did not come out very clear. I'll definitely go back and try again before the daylight gets longer because once the summer months arrive there aren't too many propbirds that depart in the late evening hours

You're very welcome, Gary... and any added illumination the pilot might have switched on would have done just what you said! Our days are growing longer now as we are once again headed towards the summer solstice, which should arrive about 20 June where you're at!!!
