Grumman EF-111 Raven (66-0047) - Aerial view looking down on one of the four General Dynamics - Grumman (* see comment below) EF-111A Ravens (nicknamed "Aardvarks") still on public display in the United States (** see comment below). This Aardvark (660047) was salvaged from the military aircraft graveyard by the owner of the Carson City (NV) based Cactus Air Force and rebuilt to its current nonflying condition by CAF volunteers.

* Note .... F-111s were originally built by General Dynamics. The conversion of some F-111s to EF-111A aircraft such as the one seen in this photo was done by Grumman.
** Note ... This is one of only four EF-111s still on public display and this is the only one of the four not located on a United States Air Force installation. There is one at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho; another at Cannon AFB, New Mexico; and the third is in the National Museum of the United States Air Force at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.

My house is only 10 miles away from this airport so I was able to go by every so often and photograph the rebuilding of 660047 thru the various phases from separate parts to the now-completed version. After I snapped this photo, we landed and I took many shots of the finished project. I'll post one or two soon.
