Lockheed C-130 Hercules (96-5300)
The second of a pair of 403 WG "Hurricane Hunters" WC-130J Hercs is just off 16L and beginning to tuck the wheels in the wells as it makes a noon-hour departure from Reno Tahoe International to end a RON visit.
Comments
Wish I could have caught up with a crewperson from one of the two "Hurricane Hunters" Hercs. I would truly like to know why two ships from this unit are out here in the Nevada desert. Haven't seen a hurricane out here in oh, I'd say, never. (lol)
Magnificent plane
That's a great catch, Gary!
RON, "Remain Overnight". That's the official term. We quietly called it a Boondoggle...:)
I've seen some pretty nasty dust devils at the Air Races.
