This Northrop F-5E Tiger II (741547) was photographed eleven years ago when it was being used by the Navy's VFC-13 "Fighting Saints" as an aggressor aircraft at NAS Fallon.

Since this photo was snapped, the blue camo paint scheme seen on this Tiger has been discontinued by VFC-13 and today there are no VFC-13 aggressor aircraft painted in this scheme.

Tiger 741547 was acquired by the Navy from the US Air Force.

In my many visits to KNFL since I took this photo, I have not seen Tiger 741547. That doesn't mean it is no longer there; it merely means I cannot recall having seen it. But if it has been retired by the Navy, then I have no idea as to its current whereabouts.

When I took this pic in 2009, this Tiger was 35 years old. If 741547 is still flying now, it is 46 years old. U(ncle) S(ugar) got his money's worth of service from this one.

As I've posted before, I'm glad the US services have the Aggressor Squadrons to give us something more than - GREY, and some of the A S schemes are quite spectacular.
