United States Navy Northrop F-5N Tiger (761578)
VFC-204 (Fleet Composite Squadron Two Oh Four) "River Rattlers"
Naval Air Station/Joint Reserve Base New Orleans (NAS/JRB New Orleans)

VFC-204, formerly VFA-204, is in the process of being redesignated from a Strike Fighter Squadron to a Fleet Composite Squadron. I, too, was saying "farewell" to this military metalbird. I've photographed it several times during my frequent visits to KNFL and I'll miss seeing F-5s when I go there in the future. However, snapping the newly assigned Vipers there will make it easy for me to "move on" (lol).

I always enjoy seeing what flight and ground crews do to sendoff a plane they loved. Awesome capture and commentary, Gary!

Gorgeous RF-5 Gary.......

Nobody highlights their pics with aviation updates and history like you do.

I enjoyed Oshkosh last week and will be putting some pics on Flightaware. Saw the Blue Angels in Milwaukee the week before but weather was hazy.

Take care Gary,

Ken
