Folks coming to Reno in the first week of March don't usually get to see the color green on the hills and mountains surrounding the city, but Spring is coming very early this year.

So the rattlers will be out early too? Very nice pic Gary.

This is Peavine Mtn which is located diagonal across the airport and the city from Rattlesnake (it's to the northwest; Rattlesnake is to the southeast), but Yes, the rattlers WILL be out a bit earlier. To them, it's Springtime. Truth be told, I've never seen a rattler on Peavine but I have seen other "breeds" (lol) of snakes. BTW, many original Renoites say that Peavine is the third of the three snow-covered mountains depicted on the tail of the Reno Air heritage livery now being flown by AAL. The other two mountains on the tail are Mt. Rose and Slide Mountain, both to the southwest of the city.

Lotta good geography and other lessons from communicating with you Gary. Get a good feel for your area, plus get to see some good pics of interesting aircraft. Many thanks
