Boeing 737-500 (N709S) - One-half of Sierra Pacific's entire two-jet fleet is shown here as N709S, a B735, is cleared to taxi across Runway 34R-16L after landing on the parallel (34L-16R).br /SPA is the fifth owner of this quarter-century old Boeing. N709S is ex-Maersk as OY-API; ex-Sterling still as OY-API; ex-Dniproavia as UR-DND, and ex-Ukraine International as UR-GBC. By finding this B735 in storage and buying it, Sierra Pacific just may have saved it from being destroyed when Russia attacked Ukraine two months ago.

Sierra Pacific has the smallest fleet equipment list I've ever encountered ... just two B735s: N708S and this one. But SPA shows up here quite frequently and I am always enthused to be able to snap one when it is here. Over the years, SPA had even older aircraft and I REALLY enjoyed being around when they came here. There was a B732 fitted with the original JT8D engines. When it took off, the crackling sound as it went past was like music. I do miss seeing (and hearing) THAT one
-- I think I have a pic of it (N712S) in my folder. In fact, I do, and it IS N712S. --

Nice shot, Gary! I think Sierra Pacific is based out of KTUS. At least I usually see one or both of them whenever I go in or out of there.

Nice shot Gary and SWEET catch! I haven't seen Sierra Pacific here in New England in quite a while so thank you for sharing! All 5! (Wave)

nice angle and snap Gman 5stars and Ive seen this at KRDD hauling fire fighters around the west coast during fire season. 709s normally departs for Moses Lake, WA when they leave Redding.
