BOEING 727-200 (N282FE)
Flashback (Thirteen years ago back to 2009) ~~
Fed Ex's "Dominique," N282FE (originally with Air Canada as C-GYNI;
1991 -- wfu by Air Canada and std at Winnipeg;
1992 -- to FDX as seen above;
in 2011 ... two years after this photo was snapped ... wfu by FDX and std at Victorville;
then in 2013 -- reg #N282FE was cancelled by the FAA) ---
... is captured here taxiing to the cargo ramp at RNO during the 7 AM - 8:30 AM time frame.
** A photo on A.net taken at Victorville in 2014 by Rainer Bexten shows N282FE still fully intact. I was not able to find any more recent info about this frame.

As I was digging back thru my photos from the past 35-45+ years, I could not help but remember how different the various models of Boeing pax jetliners were. Each one was distinctive. The B707 was totally different from the B727 which was totally different from the B717 which was not even remotely the same as the B747 and the Boeing 737, B757, B767, etc., etc. Even the B720 was easy to tell apart from its older sibling. And of all the various Boeings, I will always rank the 727 and 747 as my most favorite types.
Agree 100%, Gary.
Perfect profile photo with great sunlight!
Great aircraft! Great airline!! Only FedEx jet I flew from all seats. ð
I liked the 727 and the 757.
Still consider the 727-200 as one of the most elegant looking airframes ever.
Always loved flying (as a pax) on 727's - they were rockets compared to their contemporaries.
I totally agree w/ Gary - looking at the 4-engine 707/720's, the 3-engine 727's, and the 2-engine 737's and 757's - each appeared to be a totally unique airframe. But in fact Boeing was clever and 'frugal' as all these models shared the same 6-abreast cabin structure, and most shared a common cockpit/nose section. (However, we must exclude the 'MacDac' B-717!)

Looks like she’s back in the air again at KPAE
Hey Gary!
Happy to let you know that N282FE has been reactivated as a 767F that was delivered in March 2023. Just caught it at PDX thinking it is just another freighter. But upon looking up the registration there were only pics of the 727

This plane was named after my daughter, Dominique. I’ve been employed at fedex since 10/1985. She was 5 years old when her name was selected. She is now a 10 year employee at fedex express
Toni .... Cool!!! Thanx for writing and passing that info along. I've been photographing FDX freighters for over 20 years and whenever I posted one here on FA I always posted the name it wore. And I knew that the names were of the children of FDX employees. But in all those years of posting FDX a/c here, this is the very first time* that anyone has advised me that it is their child's name on the freighter. Thank You for doing so, and Howdy to Dominique.
* There is one instance where the person whose name was on a Fed Ex bird notified me. There is a retired 727 at KBUF that is used as an airport training platform. I had gone home for a visit and while there I was able to go out on the airfield that I used to roam around as a kid. I roamed around it again. I took a pic of the 727 and looked up the name that had been on it. I posted the pic and later the person who had been the child whose name had been on it contacted me. That is the only time I've ever heard from the actual person whose name was / is on a Fed Ex freighter.
*** Toni ... I'd have to go searching for it, but I am thinking that I probably have a photo of the port side of N282FE. And as you undoubtably know, the names only go on the left side. I'm quite sure you already have plenty of pics of N282FE from way back when Dominique's name was on it, but if I am able to locate my other snaps of this one, I'll check and if there is a click of the other side, I'll COMMENT here and if you want it I'll send it along.
