Airbus A320 —
Focal Distance for this shot: 85mm
Yes, I had permission to be out there on Bravo directly in front of this oncoming UA Airbus ... and yes, I was da_n nervous. I've never been so close to a passenger jet taxiing directly toward me ... so I was nervous and thrilled at the same time. (PS - The guys in the front office both gave me Thumbs Ups as they taxied by -- and yes, it was their thumbs that were up. lol

I was literally boxed in by moving aircraft. There was a jetliner taxiing north toward my location on Alpha (visible at right), this paxbird coming at me on Bravo, and a Southwest just rolling out after landing on the runway (visible in distance at left). I'm 100% positive I'll never be granted permission to get another series of pics from this point of view, so I will always remember how fantastic it was to get this snap and I am tremendously grateful to everyone who made it possible.
Fantastic opportunity and nervous/thrilled - superb shot and thank you for the background story.
Fantastic capture, man! This image appears to be taken from an elevated level as if you are on a platform on back of a truck.
Up close and personal! Well done Gary!
Gavin, Dwight, and Darryl .... Thanx, guys. (Wave) Dwight ... a truck?! Man, what I would give to be allowed to DRIVE a vehicle airside. Nope, I am not authorized to operate any MV on any airside area. The only "elevation" I had here was a short, portable three step foldup footstool (with little wheels so I can pull it along). With all my cameras in my camera bag, the little stool is all I can manage when I'm airside. And I don't need to have it with me very often because I can usually find airstairs on the border of the parking ramps. I only needed it this day because I was going to be out on the taxiways and between the parallels.
Gary, that is a great idea! Thanks for the info.
Wonderful, just wonderful Thank you for taking me to the airport with you! I can almost hear it and smell it!
