Boeing 737-800 (PH-HXA) - A pair of Transavia Airlines B738s on the ramp at Atlantic Aviation yesterday. Both of these 738s (PH-HXA and PH-HXC) are dressed in the hybid livery garb of Transavia / Sun Country because the two airlines regularly lease aircraft from each other's fleets. At this time of year, SCX is busier than Transavia so SCX leases from the Dutch airline. Later, when Sun Country's business decreases and Transavia becomes busier, TRA leases from SCX. The two aircraft seen in this pic are two of several that are routinely swapped between the two carriers.br /Both aircraft landed here yesterday morning from Cherry Point, North Carolina (KNKT), with full passenger loads of US Marines. Both B738s then flew back to KNKT and returned here again late last night with more Marines.

Both aircraft had arrived here from Cherry Point (KNKT) to bring United States Marines who will participate in six weeks of outdoor winter training at a USMC training base in California. The Marines seen in this photo, awaiting the arrival of a bus, were not yet fully aware of the fact that there is presently over 40 feet of snow and single digit temperatures at their training base in the Sierra ... and that their "billets" will be tents with a "chow hall" in another, larger, tent.

Didn't know Sun Country and Transavia had that lease arrangement. Bet those Marines would rather billet in Reno! Thanks for the photo and the info, Gary! Cheers!!
