Aero L-29 Delfin (VH-XET)
Australia's "Miss Independance" (VH-XET), an Aero Vodochody L-29 Delfin, is captured here as it is about to land at Reno Stead Airport after participating in the Jet Class Heat 1C race during the 2018 Reno Air Races (aka: National Championship Air Races). "Miss Independance" (Jet Class - "Race 61"), owned by Charles Camilleri and being piloted here by J. Kevin Roll, was one of three L-29 Delfins racing in this year's NCAR event. This was the sixth year that "Miss Independence" has come to the NCAR.
Comments
"Race 61" finished 5th in this Heat 1C race, but overall it did not do well. In the Heat 2C race, "Race 61" did not finish (DNF), and it was DQed in Heat 3C.
