It has since been repainted and moved to another location on the base. I have "present day" pictures of it that I will post when I have some free time.
Always liked the look of these. Do I remember reading once that in its day it was the largest aircraft to operate on an aircraft carrier?
Free time??? you might get a "Letter"...jk I think my Cousin had these on the CVN-65 USS Enterprise but unsure and this was when we rode the "Dependants Cruise" out of NAS Alameda in 1975., to the Farallon Islands, and back one day. reat looking static here..5'er for the RA-5!
Yo, T. These did fly from Enterprise so your memory is probably 100% spot on. And Gavin, your memory is probably also 100% correct because one of the drawbacks to having these on the carriers was that they took up quite a bit of space.
