Boeing 737-900 (N248AK)

There wasn't one cloud in the sky, but the grayish smoke definitely altered the golden sunrise color and created the color tints seen in this shot. Fortunately, the smoke layer was not extremely thick or the pic would have portrayed a dismal "rainy day" environment.

This is a great shot and jet Gman....! I bet you are wearing a mask and it aint for Covid! Good luck with the smoke we've been layered since June 30th, with 5 days clear only in Redding and it's been smoke everyday, no sunrise, sunsets are beat read sun shine and ugly.......good luck!

Gary.....I attempted to upload a picture of a HC144 Ocean Sentry , but to no avail . How can I complete the upload ?

Hi, Peter. Most likely it is simply because the dimensions of the photo are too large. (If you try to upload a pic that is larger than the program can handle, it rejects the upload.) Just use a program to reduce the size dimensions and try again. For a guideline re: dimensions, I usually reduce to 1760 x 880 or so ... anywhere in that area ... and mine load up OK.

File size is 365Kb , 1084 x 591 .
I do not have a tail number , the aircraft is a U.S. Coast Guard plane . When I enter the model number , invalid appears on the form .

BTW , the reason I am contacting you is that a few years ago you helped me with some info , after I had posted the pic on Flightaware .

Geesh. the file size is fine. No way is it too large. I must admit I do not understand why it won't upload. Have you tried just uploading it without entering any info into the boxes? If you can get it to load into the gallery without entering any info, you can put all the appropriate info into the DESCRIPTION BOX under the photo. True, the picture won't display any title, but you would have the info in the description box. I truly wish I could assist you but I have no idea why it won't load. Perhaps it is too small?? You might try enlarging the file size to some dimension like 1280 x ???. A small enlargement should not have too much adverse impact on the photo's clarity / quality. It can't hurt to try ....

Certainly glad we don't have that wildfire problem and to have to breathe that smoke (but summer is still to come) but it does make for some beautiful color tones. A very nice capture in what would be physically trying conditions. Well done.
