Boeing 737-500 (N708S) - Despite wildfire smoke so thick that the Grand Sierra adjacent to the airport was heavily obscured by smoke and the downtown Reno skyline was completely invisible, the pilots of this Sierra Pacific charter were able to spot the runway even tho visibility was almost down to minimums and are about to land their B735 on 16L to complete a flight from KMSN (Dane Cnty Rgnl - Madison, WI). The smoke was so thick that despite the fact it was only a few moments past 4 in the afternoon, the sun could not pierce thru the smoke so the afternoon light was gloomy and gray.

This SPA B735 was the third, and last, of the three charter flights bringing Marines to Bridgeport, CA. After this one landed, I was definitely happy to discontinue my photo snapping activity and get inside where i could breathe clean air.

Huge congrats to the flight crew for the great navigation skills in IFR and very hazy conditions! Great capture as always, Gary! I had the opportunity to recently spot this aircraft as well.
