Boeing Globemaster III (04-4132)
The heavy smoke from four major wildfires burning in California is all the way down to ground level so I had to get quite close to get this shot of a McGuire based C-17A Globemaster III (044132) as the engines are being started.
Comments
The mountains of the Sierra Nevada are completely invisible behind the thick blanket of smoke that has caused all area schools to close and health experts to urge residents to stay indoors as much as possible. The air quality is nowhere near as bad here as it is in California but it is certainly unhealthy here too.
And although I did not realize that there would be a "size comparison" when I took this click, check out how super big this Globemaster really is when compared to the crewman standing in front of it.

Now that's a five star in your face shot.
We are seeing some dreadful footage from Oregon and California on our TV news services. In that respect you are fortunate to be living away from the danger zones but you are constantly being reminded by the smoke which is affecting so much area. Stay safe.
