Fairchild Dornier SA-227DC Metro (N746KA) - As you probably know by now, I try to catch the action in all types of weather. I was tracking a few inbound turbo-props that I didn’t recognize on 21 Dec 2018. I managed to catch KCR746, an SAA227-AC Metro III, registered to Kolob Canyons Air Service (KCR), arriving on RWY 6L from Memphis (KMEM). I caught a new airline and tail but soon after these shots, I slipped on wet leaves in the grass and tumbled down the small hill at one of the well-known spotting sights near the approach of RWY 6L. The fall resulted in a very loud “pop” and painful tear in my leg and knee. Those of you who have spotted there before know of the tree that blocks our shots. I was attempting to walk around it in hopes for that “better angle”. I underwent surgery to repair the damage the next morning and will be laid up for a few months. Needless to say, I was clumsy and let a few leaves get the best of me. For the rest of you; please be careful out there and watch your footing.
