Yes Marty the one who brought candies to the children??
Wonderful Capture Ed !!
Nice shot!!!
I got to fly on this plane twice from the flight engineers position. Tim Chopp is one hell of a pilot and also flies the world's only flying C-97 "Angel of Deliverance". Nice shot of an awesome plane!
I've had a great affection for the DC-4 ever since my dad took me to see "The High and the Mighty" back in the 1950's staring John Wayne and Robert Stack. Nice photo too.
These survived the years well because they are unpressurized, not nearly as much metal fatigue! Excellent photo Ed! Cheers!

Go get 'em Capt. Tim . You are truly " One of the Greatest "
My father flew DC-4s for North American Airlines later Twentieth Century Airlines. He flew many hours taking refugees out of Hungary in the mid 50s.
Great Shot Ed!
No longer a C-54E but a C-54D. A tornado in early 2020 damaged our C-54E 44-9144 so we replaced it with C-54D 43-17228.
They're here at KFFA today... Too bad Gail couldn't make it ... he's 101 yo... Got his book and autographed too from a few years back.. My wife used to like 'cutting up' with these pilots who dropped by at KFFA ... Kind of an off the map destination.--- FIRST FLIGHT
