Fairchild-Republic Thunderbolt 2 (80-0244) - The Black Mamba from the A-10 Thunderbolt Demo Team, Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ, pulling in to park on the ramp at BKL Thursday, 29 Aug 2024. The A-10 Demo Team inherited this Fairchild A-10C Thunderbolt II, 80-0244, from the 122nd Fighter Wing “Blacksnakes” at Fort Wayne, IN Indiana Air National Guard when they transitioned to the F-16 Fighting Falcon in April of this year. Sadly, it looks like the Blacksnake will be retired and put into storage at AMARG around September 8th or 9th. Unfortunately, the A-10’s days are numbered.
