BOEING 737-300 (N326UA) - Denver Stapleton Aug 1988 - one summer the wife picked the driving trip around the USA from the SJC area - we headed EB 80 to SLC, then over to Dinosaurland in Vernal UT as my young son was into Dinosaurs then, then to Rocky Mtn Natl Park, walked around at 11,000ft level, fun, then down to Estes Park, CO and over to Denver for 3 days. I whined for time at Stapleton. The ex liked to sleep in so Lil Alien and I burned east from Wheatland spent 3 hours in the AM with our mouths open agog at the air traffic at Stapleton.....15 CO 727s, followed by 15 UAL 727s, followed by 10 737-200s both CO.UAL mixed in with a few UAL DC-10s and then silence for 25 minutes,,,then everybody would take off, and then the traffic started landing again...it's so flat east out of Denver we could see jet headlights for 20 miles out all lined up. We didn't have access to the photo platform, but I'm tall enough I can stand and film over the fence. If you never made it to Stapleton viewing area - you missed it! This photo here is a 1000mm Celestron Lens with Minolta XD-11 hand held about ,25 miles away. I wish i could go back in time.....
