How beautiful is that…!!!
OH how i remember the GOOD OLD days when i would get to go to the Widgeon fly in at Big Lake in N1423. the party at the "Call Of The Wild Lodge" was special
Really great picture
Nice splash for a wonderful airplane!!
Beautiful
I've worked on and flown in this Widgeon before. Back in the early 1990's, when it was still N9933H and it still had the old McKinnon (Lycoming) GO-480 engines. After the right engine failed over Raleigh East (NC) airport and the owner at the time (Pete Soby) made an emergency landing, he brought it to the shop where I worked to be repaired / re-overhauled. I did the gear section myself then helped to re-install the whole engine. The new paint is a bit of a shock - a far cry from the old scheme it wore for so many years!, but it's great to see that it's being kept up and maintained for many more years to come!
When I lived in the Bahamas in the 50's and 60's, my father had a widgeon. A great airplane to go island hoping!
