de Havilland Dash 8-300 (C-GHQZ) - Wasaya Airways de Havilland DASH 8-300 C-GHQZ at YWG on 4 May 23.  br /br /Originally delivered to Tyrolean Airways of Austria in 1994, this aircraft has been registered in Canada since 2001 and began flying with Wasaya Airways in 2022.  Wasaya is 100% First Nations owned and serves communities in Northwestern Ontario. Wasaya means “rising sun” in Oji-cree, and the eight rays in the logo represent each of the original eight owner First Nation communities.  br /br /Wasaya Airways has a tradition of naming their new aircraft after a distinguished member from one of their owner communities: this aircraft is named “The Spirit of Noah A. Chapman” late of Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug First Nation (formerly Big Trout Lake First Nation).
