Airbus A319 (D-AKNP)
Germanwings (4U) D-AKNP A319-112 [cn1155]
London Heathrow (LHR). Eurowings flight EW8462 arriving from Berlin Tegel (TXL). This aircraft still wears Germanwings livery. Germanwings was created in 1997 as a low cost arm of Eurowings, itself a short-haul spin-off from parent Lufthansa (LH). In 2015 the Germanwings brand was dropped and the fleet re-integrated into Eurowings. A major factor influencing this rebranding was the publicity around Germanwings flight 4U9525 on 24th March 2015 which crashed in France with the loss of 150 lives. The co-pilot, suffering from depression, had intentionally caused the crash.
Taken from Myrtle Avenue 'Gardens'. Hatton Cross (end of 27L runway)
