It's not an actual "Grumman G-44" but in fact is a license-built "copy" of a Grumman G-44A built in France by SCAN as a Type 30 as evidenced by its serial number (4) Its current FAA registration is wrong; all actual Grumman-built model G-44 Widgeons fall into a serial number range of 1201 to 1400 inclusive, all Grumman G-44A aircraft are in the serial no. range of 1401 to 1476, and the French-built "copies" - the SCAN Type 30 Widgeons - have serial nos. ranging from 1 to 41.
