This Lear 55 (XA-UCI) crashed and was destroyed in Philadelphia, PA USA on 1/31/2025. Approximately 1 minute after taking off from Runway 24 at Philadelphia Northeast Airport (PNE), the aircraft was on initial climb-out and then suddenly dived near vertically, from an altitude of 1600 ft, into a commercial area 3 miles SW of the airport. 6 people in the Lear and 1 on the ground were killed; a minimum of 19 people on the ground were injured, some seriously. The aircraft was owned by Med Jets SA, also known as Jet Rescue, a Mexico-based air ambulance operator. It was operating a flight from Philadelphia to Springfield-Branson National Airport (SGF) in Missouri, with Tijuana International Airport (TIJ), Mexico, its ultimate destination.
