Spectacular photo! The type designator is RV6. The "A" variant is not considered a different type, apparently.
Tell insurance companies that RV-6A is same as RV-6 and they might hang up the phone on you before continuing their (ignorant) argument. Yes, they are both low-wing. But, that wheel on the tail causes actuarial constipation and convulsion resulting in excessive premiums, etc. etc., etc.
I love draggers but they have bad press most likely because of bad technique. I chose a trike as my build project for purely economic reasons - insurance.
I think the liability premium is even higher which makes no sense but that's the way they think.
