Boeing B-52 Stratofortress (53-0406)
This B-52C Stratofortress crashed on January 24, 1963 with nine crew members on board due to a structural failure (two survived). Pieces of the aircraft scattered in a huge area on the side of Elephant Mountain, Maine. 54 years later, nature has taken over the memorial site, but thousands of pieces of the aircraft are still visible.

I can't believe the Air Force left all the debris that is still there. You would figure they would have gathered all the debris and stored it somewhere especially since it is on U.S. soil. Makes no sense to me at all. As small as some of the pieces look, I'm sure there have been many pieces walk off with people as a "souvenir" and that is just wrong and so unlike the military!
R.I.P.
There is a little known B-52 crash in St Paul MN
