Aircraft speed history on Feb. 17 from LA to Liege shows 770 mph at 33,000 feet altitude.

This speed looks higher that Mach 1.

The speed you are seeing over ground speed, Speed through the air was normal cruising speed. There were some extremely high Jetstream winds this week over the eastern Great Lakes that had Eastbound traffic cruising at 650+ knots but Westbound was showing under 300 knots
