Awesome photo Devon!
The more I see this Beaver the more I like that plane!! this picture is gorgeous! Devon!
Is that a horn I see on the belly?
I too agree what a great photo and a great utility aircraft. If I am correct it’s the Oil Cooling System (Oil Cooler). It is round and has a wire mesh screen in the front. This system cools the engine oil. It is located aft of the Lower Engine Cowl and on the forward belly of the aircraft. The engine on this pictured aircraft is a 9 Cylinder Pratt &Whitney R-985-AN 450 HP Wasp Junior Radial Engine. Took the Beaver on many a fishing trips into Hemps Camp located on Kapuskasing Lake near Chapleau Canada.
Leslie, William. The oil cooler is the opening on the pilot's side. The "horn" shaped opening is the air inlet for the exhaust shroud for providing cabin heat.
Nice Beaver!
@cyberjet, I concur for sure!
Great shop
