Air America used the c-45 extensively in Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia. 1960-1975. One of the modifications was to put it on the tricycle landing gear (Volpar Turbo Beech) with Garrett 331 turbo engines.

My dad trained as a navigator in one of those back then. I have some great B&W's of his training class in front of one somewhere. A great many boys became men, Thank god they did so!
