Award-Winning Singapore Changi Airport Selects FlightAware Foresightâ„¢ Data

HOUSTON AND SINGAPORE - April 6, 2022 - FlightAware, a leading digital aviation company providing global flight tracking solutions, predictive technology, analytics and decision-making tools, announced a new partnership to provide FlightAware Foresight„¢ for Changi Airport Group. With one of the world's most comprehensive datasets, Foresight predictive technology provides unprecedented insights to improve airport and airline operational efficiencies. Foresight intelligence will help to decrease preventable delays, reduce missed passenger connections, and help prevent flight cancellations for airline flights in and out of Singapore Changi Airport.

Changi Airport serves as a major aviation hub for Asia and, pre-pandemic, was one of the world's busiest airports for both international passenger and cargo traffic. In 2019, Changi served 68 million passengers. Changi's passenger travel experience is globally recognized, and the airport is a multiple recipient of the prestigious Skytrax World's Best Airport award.

FlightAware operates the world's largest flight tracking and data platform, fusing thousands of global data sources to provide the most accurate and comprehensive flight tracking intelligence. Foresight predictions are based on statistical analysis of flight tracks and timestamps of hundreds of thousands of flights in the air and on the ground, as well as routing and weather data. The predictive models are capable of identifying key influencing factors for any flight to forecast future events in real-time. Already, over half of all estimated times of arrival (ETA) predictions for US-based airlines are powered by FlightAware.

Changi Airport will also use real-time predictive runway arrival times, called "˜ELDTs' (Estimated Landing Times) delivered via FlightAware's Firehose„  API feed to further optimize precision flight tracking, arrival times, aircraft positions and flight status updates for its airport users.

"Foresight integration will create greater efficiencies for Changi as our predictive technology enables optimal use of all gate resources for faster turn times and better aircraft utilization, increases on-time departure performance and on-time connections, and optimizes airfield efficiency and ground personnel allocation," said Matt Davis, FlightAware Chief Marketing Officer. "It's exciting to create a positive impact on the travel experience of millions of passengers flying through the world-class airport that is Changi."
