Improved Base Imagery on FlightAware Maps
Today we released an updated version of our classic blue map imagery. The new imagery is more accurate, more detailed, easier to use, and simply better-looking. The improvements are especially dramatic in areas of the world outside the United States.
Specific improvements include:
- Updated national and state/territory boundaries.
- Updated roads.
- Enhanced details in areas outside the United States.
- Updated coastlines scaled for individual zoom levels.
- Map restyled for improved usability.
As part of this release, we have improved our technology to allow us to rapidly improve our mapping imagery and keep up to date with changes to national and state borders. Keep an eye out for new features in the coming months.
