What a cleanup.. very lucky this was on the MD type acft and not an aircraft with wing mounted engine!

"Jet fuel in a stable liquid form is generally safe to work with, and has to be atomized in order for it to combust properly, hence the need for the fuel to be delivered to the engines via nozzles."

Does liquid Jet fuel not produce vapor (sublimation) which is the reason gasoline can ignite explosively if poured and allowed to produce vapor?
