Until Puerto Rico gets its financial house in order, and gets dependable utilities, this is a non-starter. Forget all the noise about unions and lost jobs. If they can't keep the lights on, then who would want to fly there and transfer airlines?

airports have their own backup power that is very reliable. PR needs to be a hub for Europe first. United and American hubs are Miami, Ft Lauderdale , Dallas , Atlanta for Delta. Jet Fuel is the cheapest by almost double in the mainland United States that its not economically feasible to hub in Puerto Rico. PR needs a oil refinery and receive its old from Supertankers either from Arab countries or Cura
