Well before takeoff was being pushed back with a tug when it happened. Most likely tow bar problem.

Is it possible that the landing gear sensor malfunctioned when the tow bar was engaged as linbb has suggested.

Very Possible, It has a History of Gear Problems... A lot related to the PSEU... Note years ago they had issues on the ERJ's where the gear would show green, but still be up...
