A PAL Airlines de Havilland Canada DHC-8-300 aircraft has suffered a nose gear up landing in Stephenville Airport, Newfoundland, sustaining damage to the fuselage. No passengers were injured. Nosewheel collapse has plagued all DASH-8 aircraft. It has plagued this series of aircraft. No problem was ever actually identified in this model.

It didn't collapse, it just didn't come down. Someone over on AVHerald suggested a cold-weather problem.

That shouldn't happened to one of the most popular regional turbo-props. Thank you for adding the fact the some models had a different problem with nose wheel failed. I have a lot of data on the incidents that occured.
