The days of passengers being courteous on a commercial flight are in the past. Passengers are more beligerent and rude than ever before. While I can not say I agree with what he did. I certainly do understand his frustrations and why he snapped.

The flight attendants will never get the respect they want if they only enforce the rules when they feel like it. If they were enforced at all times then the passengers wouldn't take the chance of not needing to live by them. Enforce overhead baggage size, enforce the seatbelt rule, enforce the rule about shutting off electronic devices, etc. at all times. Singing the safety announcement and makeing jokes over the PA only makes passengers think they are just a bunch of jokesters and not a required crewmember for safety. And if the passengers are not acting to their satisfaction lets sell them a Monster Drink so they can really get jacked up.
