If al-Baker had called the story "camel dung" instead of BS I might have believed him. He is right on one point, "staff" does need permission to marry. Only female staff. No male has ever been fired for pregnancy, but the women are.

Many of the other "rules" of employment in the Middle East would never be in effect in American companies.

Maybe women's rights groups that we have to deal with here, such as NOW, can get involved make demands and also speak up about female genital mutilation!
