On Aug. 31, 2013, legendary Arctic aviator Bob Gauchie died in a Victoria, B.C., nursing home. The founder of Buffalo Airways — the Yellowknife-based airline featured in the TV series Ice Pilots N.W.T. — Mr. Gauchie’s death marked the end of 85 years of life.
