Manufacturer. Not a negative thing; it was a floatplane over a series of ocean inlets. They were fine.

It reminds me why I sold my Cessna 185 on floats years ago.
Salt water + aluminum = problems

I'd be more concerned about landing my float plane without floats than a propeller.
